Ayten Uncuoğlu
AYTEN UNCUOĞLU (Nur’s mother, ZEHRA)
A student of humanities at the University of Ankara, Ayten Uncuoğlu was actively involved in radio theatre, television dramas, amateur and professional theatre during her time as an undergraduate. Postgraduate studies later took her to Germany, where she landed the title role in Helma Sanders-Brahms’s 1976 television movie, Shirins Hochzeit. She picked up roles in a handful more German television productions during the late 1970s, as well as broadening her experience as a radio presenter. On return to Turkey, Ayten resumed her career as a stage and screen actress, working for the Istanbul State Theatre, television and cinema.
Some of her film credits to date include Ali Özgentürk’s The Nude (Çıplak), Atıf Yılmaz’s After the Fall (Eylül Fırtınası), Bahadır Karataş’s The Master (Usta), İlkşen Başarır’s Love in Another Language (Başka Dilde Aşk) and Cemil Ağacıkoğlu’s Forgive Me (Özür Dilerim). Ayten has also appeared in well over 20 drama series for television.
